Claudia Klein has always been fascinated by the complexity of mind, consciousness and the body-mind-soul connection. She has a background in various alternative health and wellness therapies, such as aromatherapy, reflexology, therapeutic massage and got involved in metaphysical and esoteric matters. Her first encounter with Hypnosis, Autogenic Training and Hypnotherapy came about with her pregnancies, when her gynaecologist introduced her to methods of Painless Childbirth. The training as a Lifeline counsellor prompted her to do more, to facilitate fast, effective change for people. She was trained by the founders of the South African Institute of Hypnotism and she is passionate to share her knowledge and understanding, which is enriched through her experiences in her private practice in Tableview, Cape Town.
Claudia has been training Hypnotherapists since 2005 and took over SAIH and the Mastermind Hypnotherapy Centre in 2007
Thomas Budge is a prominent, full-time Hypnotherapist in Johannesburg and runs a busy, professional practice at the Wellness Centre Bryanston.
He has helped hundreds people overcome a variety of problems through the use of hypnosis, including: treatment of phobias; changing habits (like smoking and eating); promoting physical health and mental well-being; relationship counselling; and, his area of special interest, the discovery and development of one’s spirituality and the art of living in the moment.
Tom's interest as a health practitioner began in 1986 when, for a while, he lived in Melbourne, Australia. Since then he has studied several healing disciplines including hypnosis. He is certified to practice through the South African Institute of Hypnotism, the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association and the American Council of Hypnotherapy Examiners and is a Designated Examiner and Certified Hypnotherapy Instructor for the American Council of Hypnotherapy Examiners. He also holds Certificates of Speciality in Forensic Hypnosis and Hypno-anaesthesia.
Decades of experience through his public talks on Astronomy at the Johannesburg Planetarium and his numerous appearances and interviews on radio and television ensures a dynamic experience for individuals attending his presentation of the highly acclaimed Certified Hypnotherapy Courses run by SAIH.
More recently, in a groundbreaking achievement in South Africa, Tom used hypno-anaesthesia in the Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg on 35 year old, Pretoria-based, Liesl van Dreau who elected to undergo a tonsillectomy without any sedation of any kind.
It took Tom six minutes in the operating theatre to put Liesl into a hypnotic trance so that surgeon Dr. Kishen Dayal could perform the 25-minute surgery on her while she sat with her mouth wide open on the operating table.
Wendal brings a few special qualifications to the training of hypnotherapists.
As a former paramedic he offers deeper insight into medical aspects and his involvement in complimentary healing modalities like Quantum Touch, Reikii and meditation enables him to incorporate the energy aspect where appropriate .
His background in teaching (as a lecturer) at a university ensures that he maintains a high professional and academic approach, interlaced with his unmistaken compassion for his fellow human being. He brings hands on knowledge to the courses through experiences with actual hypnotherapy sessions. Some of his work has been published in magazines and newspapers when he assisted women in experiencing a relaxed and virtually pain-free child birth, "confirming once more" he says, "the often under-utilized power of the mind."
